## Overview

In ConversaLabs, **points**, **revenue** and **commission** measure different things. Points recognize outcomes according to team rules. Revenue measures deal or payment amounts, depending on the selected metric. Commission is compensation calculated by the plan assigned to the seller. Changing points does not turn that balance into money.

Rules can depend on events, amounts, payment categories and sale conditions. Commercial field labels can also match your team's terminology.

## Prerequisites

- Sales enabled for the account and permission to configure the module.
- CRM enabled for commercial terms and deal approvals.
- A currency defined for rules that use monetary amounts.
- A payment integration and a link to the deal when outcomes depend on receipts.
- An eligible approver other than the seller when self-approval is disabled.

## Step by step

1. Open **Sales → Settings → Scoring**. Choose whether won deals, received payments or both generate points.
2. For each event, keep the legacy weight or create a **fixed points**, **points per amount** or **percentage of basis** rule. Check which rule is active before editing the weight.
3. For amount-based rules, choose the basis, currency, divisor or percentage, and rounding. Decide what happens when the basis is missing: skip points, use zero or use the gross amount.
4. In **Categories**, organize payment methods and conditions. The category for unclassified payments remains available.
5. In **Closing**, configure the currency, general and category floors, percentage bands and policy for below-floor deals.
6. Adjust **commercial terms** labels and calculation mode: percentage, multiplier or quantity. Require these fields when winning a deal if needed.
7. Review the available preview and click **Save** on the changed tab. The preview estimates impact on a sample; it does not change deals, points or commissions.
8. In CRM, fill in the terms when closing. If approval is required, submit a justification and follow the request. Receiving the request does not mean the deal has been approved.

## Settings & options

| Choice | Effect |
|---|---|
| Legacy weight | Applies when the event has no specific rule. |
| Disabled specific rule | This is different from removing the rule and returning to the legacy weight. Check the state shown by the editor. |
| Per source or per sale | Determines whether points are calculated for each origin or from the linked sale's cumulative amount. |
| Missing basis | The configured action applies to absent values; an entered zero remains zero. |
| Category floor | Allows different terms for payment categories. If no category applies, check the unclassified and default floors. |
| Warning, override or queue | Determines how below-floor closing is handled. Access to Sales management does not automatically grant approval rights. |
| Hold paid credit | When enabled, points and commission from linked payments await resolution of a pending approval. Check the entries after the decision. |
| Settings templates | Fill a draft using scoring mechanics. Nothing is saved until you confirm Save. These differ from packs that create demonstration content. |

### Check scoring before saving

In the calculator, enter the amount, choose the payment method and, when applicable, installments. The breakdown shows the rule, rounding and category used. **Unclassified** identifies sales that do not match configured rules; you can customize the name shown to the team. To choose another default category, search for an existing one or type a new name and select that option.

In **Configuration templates**, read the description, review the template and apply it to the form. This prepares a draft; settings change only after saving. Use **Cancel** to close without applying.

## Use cases

- Recognize activities with fixed points and payments with points proportional to receipts.
- Use different floors for the team's cash and installment categories.
- Require justification and manager review for a commercial exception.
- Review financial results, ranking performance and commission owed separately.

## Tips, limits & best practices

- Amount-based and percentage templates appear when a valid reporting currency is configured. The fixed-points template does not require a currency.

- Define the unit you want to measure first. A points ranking is not a revenue report.
- For installments, the contracted total differs from the amount received. Do not expect full credit merely because the first installment was paid.
- Rules recorded for a credit preserve the explanation of that calculation; editing settings does not automatically rewrite history.
- An unavailable or empty preview does not prove there is no impact. Review the settings before saving.
- When leaving a changed tab, choose to save, discard or keep editing.
- If products or amounts change after a request, review its terms and approval. The decision may require a new request.

## Troubleshooting

- **The rule produced no points:** check the trigger, enabled state, conditions, currency and basis. Skipping a condition differs from calculating zero.
- **The weight changed but the result did not:** a specific rule may be overriding the legacy weight.
- **The request was received but the deal remains open:** wait for the approver's decision. Open the request linked to the deal.
- **I cannot approve:** check the approver list or permission, access scope and self-approval rule.
- **Terms changed after the request:** reopen the deal, review its current amounts and request another review when indicated.
- **Creating or attaching data failed:** open the existing deal identified by the screen before creating another. An uncertain response does not prove nothing was saved.
